Local Authorities

Lionheart Education provides one-to-one, specialist and alternative provision for local authorities across the UK. We work with vulnerable and high-needs students, including those with EHCPs, those who have been excluded, and those with mental health needs or complex transitions.

Learning profiles we support

We work with learners referred by local authorities, virtual schools, SEN teams and social care. The cohorts we see most often are below.

Students with EHCPs

One-to-one support aligned with each child’s EHCP, bringing in academic, social, emotional and therapeutic elements where the plan requires them. We liaise with caseworkers and contribute to annual reviews.
Looked After Children (LAC)

Stable, relationship-based tuition for children in care, including those placed out of area or between placements. For many of these children, their tutor is one of the few adults who stays the same.
Children Missing Education (CME)

Provision that starts quickly for students without a school place, so their learning continues while long-term arrangements are made.
School refusers / anxiety-related non-attendance

We start slowly, with flexible, low-pressure sessions that rebuild trust first. Reintegration plans are agreed with the professionals and family around the child.
Mental health needs

Calm, responsive teaching for students with emotional or psychological difficulties, including those under CAMHS.
Students at risk of exclusion

One-to-one alternative provision that stabilises behaviour and supports a return to school where that is appropriate. Where it isn’t, we provide longer-term structured tuition instead.

1:1 Tuition (Home & Online)

Personalised academic support across all key stages and subjects, delivered by experienced tutors in person or remotely.

Alternative Provision

Consistent, high-quality teaching for students unable to attend mainstream school. The first priority is getting them settled and engaged, and progress follows from that.

Lionheart School London

Our one-to-one school in London offers part-time and full-time education for students in transition or needing intensive support.
SEND & EHCP support

SEND Support

Specialist tuition for students with a range of learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia and speech and language difficulties.

EHCP-Aligned Education

Provision mapped directly to EHCP outcomes, with regular reporting, input into reviews and coordination with the SEN professionals involved.
Academic transitions & urgent support

Emergency or Interim Placements

Rapid-response tuition following exclusion, placement breakdown or school refusal, often in place within days.

Reintegration Support

Structured teaching that prepares students to return to school or move into a new setting, with the confidence to stay there.
