The summer holidays are an excellent time to maintain academic momentum when the school year ends, and here at Lionheart we provide summer schools for children of all ages in an entertaining and educational way. We make sure your child uses their summer holidays effectively and can help with any issues they are having or prepare them for the year ahead.

Why choose a Lionheart academic summer school?

We work with specialist tutors in small group sizes to build foundations in the key subjects, close gaps in knowledge, improve academic confidence, and prepare students for the next steps of their academic journey.

For younger children, we have Early Years tutors who can work with them on school readiness and the basics of literacy and numeracy, but for an 11+ student, we have other more suitable tutors who can guide the groups through written accuracy and practice with both verbal and non-verbal reasoning. If a student is in Year 10 going into Year 11 GCSEs, an academic summer school is the perfect opportunity for them to consolidate all the knowledge they’ve learned that year. The same goes for Year 12 pupils going into the final A-Level year, and we can also help with UCAS decisions at the same time as deadlines approach.

Our flexible yet structured academic teaching throughout summer can be used as much or as little as you like, and it’s designed to fit around family holidays and social activities while also meeting the student’s goals for the coming year.

    7+ and 8+ Preparation

    7+ and 8+ preparation is ideal for children in Years 1, 2, and 3, and we work on reading, writing, and arithmetic, as well as interview confidence with adults if you're preparing for pre-prep independent schools.

  • Year 5 Card

    11+ Preparation

    Our Year 5 11+ summer preparation sits alongside our 11+ revision courses, and it's a useful time to build technique in admissions exams before the year they'll be sitting it, rather than leaving it until the last minute and discovering unexpected gaps.

  • Years 6 - 7 Card

    13+ Common Entrance

    One of our most popular summer courses is the 13+ Common Entrance preparation to support Year 6 and Year 7 students with everything they need to secure a placement in a grammar school, prep school, boarding school, or British International school abroad.

How our summer courses run at Lionheart School London

Summer courses run in weekly blocks across late June to early September, and each day is structured around a specific subject, or general tuition for entrance admission. Term-time pressures can mean students don’t always receive the help they need with specific parts of their school work and college work, so the summer revision courses fill the void and bring students up to date with their studies just in time to start the new school year.

    Many summer schools focus on non-educational activities, but Linoheart School London’s academic summer courses are structured teaching for children of all ages delivered throughout the summer, from June to September. Each course has a defined academic goal, whether it’s 11+ preparation for the following year, GCSE and A-Level consolidation after the first AS year of studies, or even Oxbridge admissions courses taught in small groups.

  • When do your summer courses run?

    Our summer courses start at the end of June and run all the way through to early September to coincide with British school holidays. Courses are delivered in weekly blocks, and you can choose how many blocks you’d like to take from the numerous options available.   • Can my child do one-to-one tuition alongside a summer course?

    Yes, many families choose to combine our private tuition service in London with the summer courses on offer to deliver a completely bespoke experience.
