Homeschooling tutors across London

Outside of a mainstream school setting, families require continued and structured education that not only targets the goals of the student but is also flexible enough to fit around family life and extracurricular activities. Home education offers lots of benefits for both families and children, and it’s not uncommon for parents to feel the need to add extra tuition to their teaching, especially when it’s subject-specific.

We have been working with London families since 1989, providing both in-person and online tuition for children of all ages and abilities. We are able to provide a full homeschooling programme that covers multiple subjects, or you can choose a flexible part-time service that offers one or more sessions per week with a specific focus on subjects like English, Maths, Science, and History.

Choose from online and in-person tuition in London

All of our tutors are selected from less than 1% of applicants, meaning you will only be paired with a tutor who not only possesses excellent academic credentials, but also has a professional working background in the subjects they teach homeschooled students.

We offer both online home tuition as well as in-person tuition for home education in London, where tutors travel to the family home for each session, and each has its own unique advantages:

Homeschooling tuition in London is supported by our registered Examination Centre in West Kensington, which addresses one of the most practical questions parents have about home education: where can my homeschooled child sit their GCSEs and A-Levels?

  • Purposeful study with the right exam board

Many parents opt for their child to work towards formal qualifications in Years 10 to 11 as this gives them the ability to apply to A-level courses, and later to universities with the right number of UCAS points. When students are focused on a formal qualification, it gives more purpose to the tuition sessions, and we can work with parents to decide which exam boards are the most suitable for their child.

  • All major exam boards covered

There’s no need to worry about where children will sit exams, as for all of the subjects we offer with home tuition, we can arrange for the exams to be taken in our London Examination Centre at the same time and date as the rest of the country. We can work with families from KS3 onwards to create a comprehensive programme of academic study that completes with a relevant qualification from one of the main exam boards including OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, and AQA.

  • The complete homeschooling experience

If your child needs to submit coursework or written assessments for subjects like Geogoraphy, or take speaking and listening exams for languages such as French and Spanish, we can arrange for that too at both GCSE and A-Level. With Lionheart tutors by your side, your child will receive a personalised home education from expert tutors, tailored to their pace of study, with the bonus of being able to sit examinations for all their subjects just as they would in mainstream schooling.

Frequently asked questions

  • Do you provide in-home homeschool tutors across London?

Wherever you live in London, our homeschool tutors can deliver sessions at your home, which are tailored specifically to meet the needs of students. Lionheart tutors travel to your home and bring everything they need to teach, including all of the relevant resource material for the subjects.

  • Which London areas do you cover for face-to-face homeschooling?

We cover all areas of London, including Hampstead and Highgate in the North, Greenwich and Hackney in the East, Wimbledon and Richmond in the South, Harrow and Shepherd’s Bush in the West, and Kensington and Chelsea in Central London. Tuition takes place at a time that suits you, with specific academic goals for homeschooled children.

  • Can you provide a full homeschooling programme in London?

All tutoring is bespoke for each individual, whether you require a few lessons in certain subjects every week, or a complete homeschooling programme in London delivered with multiple subject-specific tutors. We work closely with parents to discuss the exact requirements to provide clear and purposeful teaching at all stages.

  • Do you work with families who want a temporary homeschooling arrangement?

It’s not uncommon for families to request in-person tuition in London for children who are being homeschooled on a temporary basis. A tutor ensures that there are no gaps in knowledge when children are not in mainstream school, so that when they return they can pick up where they left off.
