Cognitive Ability Testing
Cognitive ability testing is designed to explore how a student processes different types of information rather than simply measuring what they have learned at school. Assessments may look at verbal, quantitative, spatial and non-verbal reasoning to build a broader picture of a young person’s cognitive profile.
Results can help families and educators understand relative strengths, areas of difficulty and patterns that may not be visible through school grades alone. They can also provide useful context when considering academic support, school placement or further specialist assessment.
Lionheart uses assessment information as one part of a wider understanding of the student. Rather than reducing a child to a score, our consultants and tutors consider cognitive results alongside academic attainment, wellbeing, learning history and individual goals.
