Our Services

How we support your child at this stage

Primary years are when skills turn into habits. Our tuition strengthens core literacy and numeracy, builds confidence, and introduces the early thinking skills that set children up for future academic success. Each programme is age-appropriate, steady, and tailored to your child.

  • Core literacy

Reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and confident early writing.

  • Core numeracy

Number sense, arithmetic fluency, problem solving, and early reasoning.

  • 7+ and 8+ readiness

Calm, age-appropriate preparation for selective assessments — skills, habits, and interview practice without pressure.

  • Confidence and study habits

Attention, organisation, and positive routines that make independent work feel achievable.

  • Stretch and enrichment

For pupils who need more challenge: rich texts, extension maths, and creative or investigative projects.

  • Gentle support for specific needs

Experienced tutors for dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety, and late confidence — patient, practical sessions that meet children where they are.

  • Homeschooling or flexible programmes

Part-time or full-time primary programmes at home or online, built around your child’s pace and your family routine.

Frequently asked questions

  • How long are lessons?

For Years 3–6, most children concentrate well for 60 minutes.

For Years 1–2, we recommend 45–60 minutes depending on attention, energy, and the nature of the work. We adapt this as your child grows.

  • Do you set homework?

We prioritise reading, short fluency tasks, and light practice that reinforces what was learned.

Work is never excessive or stressful; it’s designed to build confidence and retention.

  • Can you coordinate with my child’s teacher?

    Happily.

With your permission, we align lesson planning with school targets, current units, and any feedback from teachers. This ensures tuition and schoolwork work together, not in competition.

  • When should we start 7+/8+ preparation?

We focus on strong foundations first.

For most families, gentle, structured preparation in the two terms before the assessment is ideal. Earlier work should centre on reading, number fluency, and reasoning — not formal exam practice.

  • Do you teach in person or online?

    Both.

For younger children, in-person tuition is usually most effective.

Online can work very well for Years 4–6, or for families who need flexibility or specialist tutors not available locally.

  • Can you support mild learning differences?

Yes. Many of our tutors have experience with ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, confidence issues, and uneven development across subjects. We use steady, practical strategies that build focus, fluency, and self-belief — without overwhelming the child.
