Some of the Challenges We See

Every year, we work with families facing urgent, often overwhelming situations. At Lionheart, there is no challenge too great, no story too far gone.

Areas we have supported include:

School Refusal

When anxiety, unmet needs, or emotional fatigue make a return to the classroom feel impossible.

Exclusion or Breakdown

For students who have been expelled or experienced a complete breakdown in their school placement.

Emergency Relocation

Support with urgent moves — whether due to family, work, or diplomatic requirements — including finding appropriate interim schooling.

Unmet SEND or Mental Health Needs

When the current school environment cannot offer the support a child requires to feel safe, seen, and able to progress.

Academic Disengagement

For students who are capable but coasting, under-stimulated, or have lost confidence in their ability to succeed.

Post-Crisis Recovery

Helping students re-engage with learning following illness, trauma, or prolonged absence.
